About

My name is Julie Smith. I am passionate about animals and animal care. I have been working with animals professionally for most of the past 20 years.  I’ve worked as a vet tech in both day practices and animal ER’s, as a commissary keeper and animal care volunteer in AZA accredited zoos, as an operations manager of a large retail pet store chain, and now as the owner of my own pet sitting business. Over the years I have learned both what to do and what not to do when it comes to animal care and am still learning new things everyday.  Quality animal care is constantly progressing as we learn more and more about the other species we share this world with.  My goal is to share as much knowledge as possible so we can help make the world a better place for our animal friends.

I have also become an amateur gardener. I started gardening so that I would know where my tortoises’ food was coming from. Gardening has definitely been a learning experience for me. I love to try to grow new varieties of plants each season and share my experiences with you along the way. I believe that by sharing our experiences we can all learn from each other.
